Actions taken by a company or an individual to manage its reputation creating a certain frame of mind regarding its image is called reputation management. Remember, the customer is always right, even if what they say doesn't make any sense, they have the money and that makes them right.

Listen

Listening is a huge tool when finding out what you need for your company. Whether it's listening to customers or even listening to employee's, it is important to realize the value of their input. A customer could help find out why a certain are of people aren't buying it and an employee can tell you why production has slowed down even though the demand has stayed the same.

Changes

Listening usually involves changes and if you are to change something then it is important to watch how you change it. If you find a problem inside of your business and choose to take care of it, the way you take care of it will be remembered by employee's and customers alike. If you choose the best course of action is to fire someone, look at what they did and try to be sympathetic. Giving just one employee a 2 week notice allows them to find another job and makes you seem like a caring boss which creates more loyalty and dedication in a business.

How do you let everyone know about your business? Most businesses us the internet to advertise their business but most of them newer ones aren't paying for ads but for articles, why is that? Articles are full of information that's useful to customers about what they may want from your company and let's everyone know about your business. It is even more important to post articles and search engine optimization rich web contents as both are interconnected. This not only builds your reputation but also connects you to your customers.

More and more businesses are using social media to stand out from the crowd. While it's relatively new, social media passes around the internet like wild fire. Just one share from Youtube to Facebook and what was only 3 views has now become 3,000,000 views in less than a few weeks. This makes it obvious as to why businesses would want to use this to their advantage as just posting about one product could bring in thousands of customers.
