The SAS League - Part of the History of the Danish Super League

Description :

The Danish Football Association is the one who administers Denmark’s football championship that is currently called the Super League. The Super League is quite popular mainly because the people of Denmark love football and show enormous interest in this championship. There are also other football leagues in Denmark, but the Super League is the biggest and most popular one. The number of participating teams is 12 each year and out of the twelve participating teams the last two lose their places in the championship.

The SAS League - Part of the History of the Danish Super League

The Super League has long history and has seen a lot of development over the past few years. The league was first formed back in 1991. Soon it became the highest football championship in Denmark. At first, the number of participating teams was just 10. The games started during the spring. Each pair of teams played two times. This resulted in two teams getting cut off. Then the games continued with eight teams and the result was another two teams being cut off. That was the pattern of the championship in the beginning. In 1995 the number of teams that participated in the tournament was increased to 12. Moreover, sports sponsorships became really common.

At first, the league changed its name to Cola League because it was sponsored by the Coca-Cola company. In 2001, the Scandinavian Airlines became the sponsor of the Danish football league and so it was called the SAS league (as the Danes say SAS Ligaen). The SAS league existed for nine years. It became the Super League once again in 2010. However, many people still call the Danish football league the SAS league because of the long period of sponsorship. It has been two years since the championship got its original name back, but this sponsorship has not been forgotten quite yet.

The period during which the league went by the name SAS league as well as the past few years has been crucial for the recognition of this championship. The league got a lot more popular during these years and the audience increased. New stadiums were built in order to handle the fans that came to watch the matches. The rank of the league has improved quite a lot, too.

There are many great football players that currently play for the teams participating in the major Danish championship. The former SAS league is way better than most of the Scandinavian leagues and this can be seen by a simple comparison of the players they attract. Eric Djemba who used to play for Manchester United now participates in this championship. There are many other great players, too. That attracts the attention of the audience and makes the games a lot more popular.

Even for a country which loves football, the games of the Danish Super League get quite big audiences. The Danish football league is recognized in Europe and is one of the major leagues on the continent because of the great developments over the past few years.

How to Easily Edit and Rename Voice Recordings in iOS

Description :

One of the most useful apps in iOS is the Voice Memos app. Whether you are making note of an important date, compiling a shopping list, or recording a lecture for one of your classes, it is a great way to keep the information you need at your fingertips.

How to Easily Edit and Rename Voice Recordings in iOS

Whatever you use the Voice Memos app to do, you can make your life much more organized and simple by renaming recordings and editing out the unnecessary content. Here is how to do it:

How to Rename an Existing Voice Memo

When voice memos are recorded, they are automatically organized according to the time and date the recording takes place. If you make very many recordings, it can quickly become impossible to locate what you need…especially if you don’t remember when you recorded the information. One great way to remedy this issue is to immediately rename your recordings when you make them. Follow these steps to rename your files for easy reference:

Open Voice Memos and tap the list icon to open the previously recorded files list. The list icon can be found near the bottom of the right side of the screen.

Once the list is open, find the file you want to rename and tap the > button beside the file.
You will now see options for labels. Select the options for Custom and type your chosen name for the file.

Repeat the above steps with all of your voice recordings. You can now easily locate and access your information any time you need it.

Editing a Voice Memo Recording

In addition to renaming your voice recordings, you can choose to edit your recordings so they only contain the information you need. This is particularly useful for very long files such as lectures, meetings, and other important recordings. If you would like to trim these recordings down to a smaller size, follow these steps:

• Follow the above directions to access the Voice Memos list. Tap the > list beside the file you wish to edit.

• Look for the option to “Trim Memo” to the middle of the left side of the screen and select it.
When you choose this option, you will see a bar at the bottom of the screen. You can use this bar to select the sections of the recording you want to cut from the file. Simply drag the bar edges to trim the memo to the size and content you want to keep.

• Once you have completed your selection, tap the play button to preview your edited recording. It is important not to skip this step since changes are permanent after they are saved. Tap the button to “Trim Memo” and save your changes.

Conclusion

By using these helpful features of your iOS Voice Memo app, you can keep your recorded information organized and succinct so it will be easy to access when you really need it.

Some Emergent Internet Applications

Description :

As the Internet grows day by day (by trillions of addresses) even more uses are made of it. Seriously, that's not a typo.

Some Emergent Internet Applications

Here we look at two futuristic applications that are with us today; an Interplanetary Internet (known as InterPlaNet) and robots that are controlled by our own thoughts.

1. The Interplanetary Internet

No, it is not science fiction. There really is an interplanetary internet, and its primary node is inside the International Space Station. In fact it has been operational since 2009, but it is now expected to take on an entirely new role as rumors emerge that NASA is working on new plans to develop a hovering moon base.

Some Emergent Internet Applications
This base (called EML-2) would be situated 60,000 kilometres away from the dark side of the moon at what is called a Lagrange Point. There are a number of such points close to the earth’s orbit where all the gravitational pulls even out, creating gravity neutral regions where space craft can effectively be parked without the need of any fuel to keep them there.

Astronauts aboard EML-2 would be able to control robotic vehicles on the surface of the moon in real time rather than the three second delay when controlling them from earth. The concept has now been tested by controlling a prototype moon rover on earth via the interplanetary internet.

2. Your mind in a machine

VGo is a robot. It attends school and goes from lesson to lesson using a camera. It is surrogate of a young boy who, because of allergies, cannot attend school himself. He controls the robot over the internet and takes part in school lessons and communicates with his friends through it. He is not unique. Such virtual travellers are becoming common place; they save lives in operating theatres and take them in wars; they even carry out nine to five jobs.

Currently they are controlled by mice and keyboards, but the next generation will be controlled by thought alone. As well as sight and sound they will send back to the user senses of touch and smell. Effectively we will be able to become completely immersed in an alternative location; effectively we will be the mind in a remote robotic body.

Some Emergent Internet Applications
You can buy basic ones now for under £10,000. To control it remotely over the internet you just need access to a computer and web camera and people are using them for such purposes as touring museums and visiting family. They are being trialled in hospitals for remotely checking on patients.

A prototype has been built that is controlled remotely over the internet by a person wearing a body suit and controlling one just by thought has been demonstrated using a MRI brain scanner.

Final Words

As broadband continues to develop, ever more uses will be made of it that extend far further than downloading movies and social networking. Perhaps future broadband deals will include the option to add a robot that we can send off to work while we put our feet up.

Finally Experience the Benefits of Developing Android Apps

Description :

Reasons Why You Should Develop for Android

The Android operating system thrives in what is known as open platform. That is to say, it has no commitment to any particular provider and/or manufacturer. This openness of the Android OS allows programmers to freely take advantage of the platform's capacity. Those programmers involved in Android app development will have their app on hand for millions of users throughout the world. Without doubt, the openness of Android permits it to expand on the market rather quickly.

Finally Experience the Benefits of Developing Android Apps

With the source code being easily accessible at http://source.android.com, providers and hardware manufacturers will be able to opportunely create and sell Android devices. There are no restrictions on totally exploring the source code to see how a certain task is managed. As an illustration, the open-source code lets phone manufacturers integrate features into some devices and generate custom user interfaces (UIs). As you develop apps, you will find yourself on the same playing field as other major developers.

Getting a Share of the Market

Nowadays, a developer can go on to develop apps for this innovative flourishing market. Android is currently poised to surpass scores of other carriers in the industry marketplace in the months to come. The reality is that with numerous users, it has become much easier to write applications for downloading and use by potential customers.

The great benefit of the Android market stems from the fact that it places the app directly and conveniently into the users' reach. It no longer becomes necessary to go about prowling the Internet for an app to install. This can be done by going to the Android market, pre-installed on most devices where all apps can be accessed. It wouldn't be difficult to observe how an app's amount of downloads skyrocket in just a couple of days.

Cross-compatibility Essentials

Cross-compatibility within this context refers to running Android on many devices with diverse screen dimensions and resolutions. Apart from being cross-compatible, Android possess the tools that could assist you in developing cross- applications. Thanks to a Google requirement, your apps can only be run on compatible devices.

To illustrate, if an app needs a front-facing camera, just phones having a front-facing camera will be capable of seeing an app in the Android market. This set-up is identified as 'feature detection'. It is important to note here that for an Android device to be certified compatible, certain hardware guidelines must be adhered to. It all boils down to ensuring that your apps are able to run on all devices.

Can SmartPhones Help In a Classroom?

Description :

Several years ago, students were sent to the office for chewing gum or talking in school. Today, at many schools, one of the most common reasons a student might be sent to the office is for using a computer.

Can SmartPhones Help In a Classroom?

Are you shocked? You thought schools loved computers and wanted students to use them all the time? Sure, that’s what they say. However, in many schools, their actions tell a different story.

A SmartPhone Is Just A Tiny Computer

The computers those students are trying to use is their SmartPhone.

Do you remember when you used to watch television shows like Star Trek and were envious of those tiny computers they could carry around in their hands? We have those now. We just don’t call them tricorders. Instead, we call them phones.

The SmartPhones of today are becoming almost as robust as desktop computers. With the advancements in 4G and VoIP technologies, they will soon be just as powerful.

Think of the latest app you downloaded. Is it something that you previously had to sit in front of your computer to do? That’s no longer true because you carry a tiny computer in your pocket.

Schools Need More Computers

Schools are constantly trying to raise money or look for grants. One of the things they are most likely to be spending money for is technology. Schools always need more computers.

In an ideal situation, a teacher would have a computer for each student. The problem is money. Schools don’t have enough money to buy all of those computers.

Students Have The Computers

Almost every high school student is walking around with a computer in their pocket. While it has not been the case for elementary students, it is becoming more and more common to see elementary students with SmartPhones.

Schools can solve many of their technology budget problems by using the computers that students already have. They carry them in their pockets. Simply have them take those out and use them.

Many Educational Apps Are Free

Let’s face it. The price of computers is not the only issue. Software is expensive.

It would be naïve to assume that SmartPhones could negate all software purchases. Of course some purchases will still need to be made. However, many educational apps are available for download. In most cases, teachers could not ask students to download and pay for an app.

Fortunately, some operating systems, such as Android-based systems, have many free downloads of both educational and other apps. Teachers could expect students to use free educational apps, even If they must be deleted immediately afterwards.

What About Unapproved Texting?

First of all, if you believe a teacher sees all students who are texting, even when the student didn’t want them to see, then you need to move into the current century. Texting is going to happen. The fact is that students can do it in ways that a teacher never even begins to suspect.

The truth is that unapproved texting is much more likely to occur with their phones hidden inside their pockets than if they have them out on their desks, busily working on a task. The bottom line is that if you keep them busy, students won’t have time for unapproved texting.

Use What You Have

The moral of this story is that you should always use what you have available to you before asking for more. Schools can solve many technology budget issues by using the technology that they already have at their disposal.

Business Essentials: Why Photoshop is a Necessary Software to Learn

Description :

One of the most amazing Internet tools for business is the Photoshop software of Adobe. This software is often used in graphic creation and web design online. But many other professions, industries and businesses in many countries actually benefit from this wonderful tool. That’s why there are IT consultancy firms that exist mainly to train companies who want their employees to be more efficient in their job.

Business Essentials: Why Photoshop is a Necessary Software to Learn

One type of business that most obviously benefit from it is graphic designing. Companies that are into printing - items like T-shirts, magazines, newspapers, CDs, mugs and other personalized items - cannot avoid using Photoshop to give their clients the best service possible. A company that doesn’t use Photoshop these days is sure to be left behind in the competition.

Customer-Friendly

Photoshop is customer-friendly, because a client can just send a photo and ask the company to “enhance” it to suit his needs. No matter how old a photo is, this software can always do something to enhance it. For graphic web designing, or for personalized page templates in social networking pages, it can do wonders. The possibilities are simply endless!

Not Just for the Printing Business

But the benefits of Photoshop are not just enjoyed by people in the printing and graphic design businesses. There are other types of businesses whose performance has greatly improved by it's use. Companies that are in the manufacturing business, like those that produce service repair manuals and machinery parts, also tremendously benefit by just loading graphics into Photoshop using a non-graphic format.

Here, Adobe’s Fireworks add-ons are a great help. Graphics can be brought to life and be animated by Photoshop. You just have to unload images from your CAD software, bring them into the Photoshop program and turn them in a real-time environment. This gives the images a three-dimensional view and feel to them. In the repair manuals and spare parts business, Photoshop allows the finished pages to be saved as an online file and then posted so that repair technicians can view them in the Internet wherever they are in the world.

Some of Adobe’s add-ons can even allow the client to come up with a moving real-time animation of a repair process - every step of the way. This brings a lot of benefits to businesses that operate service personnel overseas. If there are concerns, the personnel can just refer to the repair procedure being animated by the Photoshop tool. A lot of money, time, effort and other company resources are saved in the process.

The Benefits Enjoyed by the Photography Business

Perhaps there is no business that benefits from Photoshop more than the photography business. With the use of Adobe Photoshop, even an amateur photographer can come up with professional-looking photos. With use of a wide collection of tools, palettes and filters, any person with a camera can make money. Here are some of the things that a photographer can do using Photoshop:

Touch Ups

A photographer or graphic designer can touch up images that may otherwise be ruined by things like dust, background intruder, a stain or any other item. The “Clone” tool can be used to reproduce a matching area in the photo and place this over the area that you want to erase. This will create a seamless image. You can erase a person in the background, a bird in the sky, or you can add an item to produce a creative image. Anything is possible.

Color Change

Even newbie Photoshop users can create a color palette for their own purposes. Photoshop offers color-enhancing tools that can be used to change the color of the eyes of the photo’s subject, change the color of the T-shirt that the subject is wearing, etc. A Photoshop user can also add spot color to call attention to a specific detail in the photo.

Layers

Photoshop also gives its users layers to work in. You can use layers to stack designs, remove or hide them so that you can take a look at your work. Imagine flipping pages of a book, with each page containing images on top, which a user can delete or enhance whenever he wants to. That’s how layering in Photoshop work.

LTE - The Basics

Description :

Wireless carriers really like using technology-laden acronyms like 3G, HSPA, EV-DO, 4G and LTE and they expect us all to have a degree in rocket science.

LTE - The Basics

In reality, most people do not know what any of these acronyms means. This article is aimed at revealing what LTE stands for.

LTE – The Meaning Behind The Acronym

LTE is short for Long-Term Evolution. This is an extension of the popular GSM (‘Groupe Special Mobile’ or Global System for Mobile Communications) technology, which is used all over the world nowadays. GSM is capable of simultaneous high speed data with 3G and voice and this is the way you surf the web while talking on your phone if you choose most of the carriers all over the world and have a 3G-capable mobile phone. The easiest way to tell that a mobile phone is a GSM is to look for its SIM or Subscriber Identity Module card. This is a tiny chip that has information about your phone number. Moreover, you can transfer it from one unlocked cell phone to another one quite easily.

Other carriers nowadays use CDMA, which stands for Code-Division Multiple Access. This is an older standard for data and voice and it does not need a SIM card. It is most common in the US and only some mobile carriers rely on this standard. This technology is limited to either data or voice at any given time. This means that you can never have both even if your phone supports 3G.

ETSI or the European Telecommunications Standards Institute is the one to establish the standards for the whole telecommunications business. This is a non-profit organization and it supports the relationship between the companies that made the hardware (the cell phones) and the carrier companies which provide networks for those phones. LTE is the product of a cooperation known as 3GPP or Third Generation Partnership Project.

Nowadays, there are two different versions of LTE. There is the current pre-4G standard and it is advertised by carriers who say it is actually 4G anyways. There is also the LTE Advanced and this is the true 4G, but you will not see it for quite some time. The currently advertised 4G LTE is a baby step taken towards the adoption of LTE Advanced, which is going to be compatible with the standards used nowadays.

LTE is a technology of the future and the hardware available nowadays cannot handle LTE Advanced just yet. This means that for now we have to stick to the pre-4G standard, which is the 4G we know. LTE is the most recent evolution of GSM. It is created in order to bring broadband speeds to mobile data transfers. It is supposed to unify all the carriers around the world and especially the rivals in the US.

Why do we care about LTE?

This new standard promises us high speeds for mobile data. It can offer up to 100 Mbps download speed and up to 50 Mbps upload speed at best.

TED - Leah Buechley: How to "Sketch" With Electronics

Description :

Designing electronics is generally cumbersome and expensive -- or was, until Leah Buechley and her team at MIT developed tools to treat electronics just like paper and pen. Leah Buechley is an MIT electronics designer who mixes high and low tech to create smart and playful results. Electronics aren't just for experts and engineers.

TED - Leah Buechley: How to "Sketch" with Electronics

Kids and amateurs should be able to play, too, which is why Leah Buechley designs little paper-based electronics for "sketching" and interactive electronic fashion for tinkering. Buechley designs and creates electronic textiles, or e-textiles, like this jacket that can signal which way you're turning on your bike

TED - Leah Buechley: How to "Sketch" with Electronics

In this talk from TEDYouth 2011, Buechley shows some of her charming designs, like a paper piano you can sketch and then play. The method has to do with being able to draw circuits by hand, on demand, and being able to customize and re-think circuits without having to start a whole new chip and waste material.

Great talk and cool concept! I love when technology, electronics and art collide, really got my imagination going. Discover even more from TED.

What Advancements in Cloud Computing Mean for Productivity and Accessibility in the Office

Description :

The basic Idea behind cloud computing has been around since the late 1950's, when the first very expensive large mainframe computers were designed for simultaneous accessibility through multiple terminals at universities and research institutions due to the immense cost and scarcity of computer time.

What Advancements in Cloud Computing Mean for Productivity and Accessibility in the Office

This basic pattern existed until well into the 1990's before the brilliant idea of commercially developing the same basic computing structure was developed by large internet companies like Amazon and Oracle; these first large commercial cloud networks came online in early 2000 - 2001 and since then the industry has at first slowly and now very quickly expanded dramatically.

By its most basic definition (for those of you that are still a bit unsure what I mean by "cloud") a cloud computing structure is essentially a large centrally managed system of servers that make up a single large (or vast) computing system and can be filled with hardware, software, or other digital applications such as storage space and security software. This server domain, or cloud, is then accessible through dozens, hundreds, or even millions of remote terminals around the world that have been granted entry rights. Each smaller computer can then use the clouds resources through its remote connection while logged into the server system.

Today this basic structure has evolved to encompass all our personal and business machines: Laptops, PCs smart phones, tablets and even large industrial computers; all connected to an assortment of cloud networks offering dozens of different services and support systems.

What Advancements in Cloud Computing Mean for Productivity and Accessibility in the Office

There are essentially three main kinds of cloud computing networks: Public Clouds (publicly accessible), Private Clouds (closed cloud networks) and Hybrid clouds (containing both publically open sections and areas that are restricted), which are a mix of the first two. Any of these three can be used to deliver computer power, technology and software as a service, usually under one or more of the following categories:

- security as a service

- software as a service

- storage as a service

- hardware as a service

- Data as a service

- Online Test environment/API as a service

As you can see from the list and image above, all of these powerful features and numerous others are offered as services. This is in fact the essential benefit of cloud networks; powerful broadband connections have allowed for what were formerly products to be turned into remotely delivered services in which the actual service delivery structure is located away from a single personal or business computer. Also, bear in mind that the above is only a partial list of cloud services and many cloud networks offer far more customer options that are now evolving on a daily basis!

Okay, so let's take a look at the chief productivity and accessibility benefits of this new cloud landscape for your business:

1. Low Priced Access to Major Computer Power

Since most commercial cloud networks are run by major corporations --such as Microsoft, Amazon, Apple, Oracle and Google -- with heavy software and hardware resources at their disposal, buying into a cloud network gives your business access to extremely powerful computer tools at a tiny fraction of the cost of buying them yourself. For a single monthly/annual membership fee, even individuals and very small businesses can take advantage of resources that were strictly the domain of large corporations just 20 years ago or less.

From security systems to API environments to design software applications, your business can handle much larger workloads through cloud computing and do so without having to concern itself with the costs of trying to maintain the infrastructure that allows these capabilities.

2. Decentralization of the Workplace

As mentioned above, one of the chief features of cloud computing systems is their accessibility via remote devices such as smart phones, tablets, laptops and computers from anywhere in the world with access to the same network on which a given cloud database is located. Because of this, workplaces such as your business can be massively decentralized for greater efficiency and cheaper operational costs.

Previously, you as a business would have had to keep all of your hardware or software onsite and have your employees come into a physical office so they could make use of it. Now, this is becoming steadily less necessary; when the very business resources you use are themselves remotely accessible, your entire team of contractors, developers or other workers can access them from their own home computers or mobile devices just as easily as they can from an office. You and your employees can also share your information more effectively, even in large quantities, through the data and storage options that many cloud computing systems provide.

The obvious conclusion here is that you may just be able to shift from an office based workforce to a team of telecommuting employees that enter the cloud network to which you have bought access and complete their work from home, working on a more flexible and efficient schedule without wasting time on travel.

3. Dramatically Increased Work Flexibility and Productivity

As a result of the greater resource access and decentralization induced flexibility that cloud computing can give to your business, you can now also count on creating a much more flexible workplace in which you can give your clients access to more varied, more professional services at discounted prices. Since the business tools you use are maintained, updated and expanded by the cloud provider instead of you, your company can focus more purely on client-end satisfaction and operations.

Your costs and time outlays for doing business are also reduced by the fact that your employees no longer necessarily need to travel and can work from wherever they are at a much more flexible time schedule; again, the result of this is also a reduction in time wasting and more focus on work instead of external tasks like commuting and running a large office setting. On the whole, your business becomes more adaptive, faster and cheaper to run.

4. Increased Competitiveness

The ultimate net result of all of these features that come with working from different clouds is a more competitive company that can give better service at reduced costs. Business bloat can more easily be avoided and you as well as your employees can both benefit from a more streamlined work environment in which you can actually get more done with less money and time spent. This can make you more competitive, particularly against companies that aren't early adapters because they haven't yet shifted to a cloud based workplace.

Review: Free Worldwide Calling App for Android and iOS

Description :

There is a multitude of calling apps for smartphones, but how can you choose the best one for you? The answer lies in whether or not you need to make international calls.

Review: Free Worldwide Calling App for Android and iOS

There are only a handful of smartphone apps that allow you to make free or cheap international calls, so you have to choose the right one for your needs. One of these apps is called Fring, and it is free to download for Android and iOS.

About Fring

Fring is a calling app that allows you to make phone calls, send SMS text messages, and video chat. The only catch is that free calls can only be made to recipients who also use Fring, which is not a huge problem since Fring has roughly 40 million users. However, you can also invite anyone to download Fring with a text message invitation from the service.

Making international calls are easy with Fring, but it is not free is the user has not also downloaded the Fring application on their Android or iOS smartphone. Calls to international landlines or non-Fring users start at a rate of one cent per minute, and can steadily increase from there.

Conveniently, the Fring website has a search tool that allows you to check international call rates. All calls on FringOut, the service’s outgoing call feature, start at one cent per minute if the number is not also registered with the service. These can be either domestic or international calls, at the provided rate.

For example, calling from the United States to a Germany mobile number, with Fring, is possible at a rate of 8.5 cents per minute. Calling a German landline is only 1 cent per minute. But if the number you are calling is also registered with Fring, you can call that number for free, wherever in the world it is located.

For this reason, Fring can be a great tool to use on business trips. Making free video calls from abroad to another Fring user is a convenient way to conduct a business meeting. It allows for up to four-way group video chatting.

Also, Fring can be used by students studying abroad to call home and to keep in touch with friends and family. The recipients of the call do not need a special phone number; they are stored in the address book normally. Also, the Fring user does not need to memorize dialing codes, they only need to make sure their call recipient also has Fring.

Usability

The Fring interface is very clean. It is simple to find what the buttons you are looking for, and the application looks professional and usable. It is also very easy to buy Fring Credit. You can use a credit card, but you can also use PayPal. Having multiple options for payments is a great thing about this application, because it gives you flexibility.

You can also find other Fring users by checking your own phone’s address book, as Fring will tag the numbers that have also downloaded its services. Fring also lets you connect with users using your Facebook stream of friends.

The video chats are usually clear in both video quality and voice quality, as long as the call is made within the 4G network. 3G video calls are decent in quality, but they are not as clear as when made in 4G.

Cloud vs. On-Premise CRM Software

Customer relationship management (CRM) software is a significant and oftentimes necessary tool for your business. It enables you to keep track of customer information, promote lead generation, and generate reports and data that can help make your business more efficient and productive.

Cloud vs. On-Premise CRM Software

There are a multitude of CRM software programs available for you to choose from. These programs can generally be divided into two categories: those systems installed and maintained on premise, and those that are outsourced to internet cloud hosting services. Each system has its own benefits as well as disadvantages, and you should compare how well each would fulfill your company’s needs before making a purchase.

Security

The security and confidentiality of your business information and that of your customers is paramount. Security breaches can result in fraud, identity theft, and a sharp decline in customer trust.

- The greatest benefit cloud-based CRM has to offer is also its greatest weakness: it is hosted on and accessible through the internet. The convenience of accessing your CRM anywhere there is an internet or mobile connection is offset by the risks posed by online hackers.

- Hackers are becoming increasingly skilled at bypassing security and encryption systems. If the ease of access outweighs the risk to security in your opinion, be sure to utilize a cloud-based system that has the most up-to-date and advanced security available.

- CRM software that is based on-premise does not require an internet connection in order to function and all its information is kept offline. There are no risks to the security of your information because without online access, it’s impossible for a hacker to break in.

Reliability

Your CRM system needs to be not only accessible, but also reliable, if it’s going to serve your company’s best interests. You need to be able to pull up customer information when they call in order to best serve their needs, and you need to be able to input important information as it occurs so it doesn’t get lost.

- Cloud-based CRM is available anywhere there’s an internet connection, and many programs also come with access for mobile devices and phones.

- The cloud’s dependency on a reliable connection exposes a significant weakness in the software. Should your internet go out, due to equipment failure, outages, or distance from a wireless hot-spot, you can’t access any of your information.

- On-premise software doesn’t rely on the internet, so it can function in a variety of circumstances where its cloud-based counterpart would fail. The software can be loaded onto multiple computers and laptops owned by your business, so that you can take it in a tunnel or to the mountains and always have your information at hand.

Customization

Oftentimes you want your CRM software to perform specific functions, such as automating reports or integrating with another program used by your company. The degree to which your business requires customizable software impacts your decision between on-premise and cloud-based CRM systems.

- Cloud-based CRM is often a one-size-fits all build with limited options for customization. If you plan to stay within the default parameters of the program, this shouldn’t be a problem.

- On-premise CRM is fully customizable. You control the system, so you can add whatever features or functions you need in order to capitalize on its use. You can integrate it with your other systems easily, especially if you have a dedicated staff member on hand to manage all the program’s modifications and maintenance.

Cost

The cost structures for cloud and on-premise software also differ. Cloud-based systems are hosted on a remote server, the use of which you are charged for on a monthly basis. On-premise software is purchased in one large up-front payment, but once purchased comes with no additional costs.

- Cloud fees can change from month to month due to bandwidth uses and any features you may add. This can make it difficult to budget for the cost of the program as it is constantly changes.

- In order to offset the inconvenience of purchasing on-premise CRM software all at once, you can get a payment plan to spread out the cost over the course of the year. The monthly cost doesn’t change no matter how you use the software.

Cloud-based CRM software can seem like an easy and convenient choice for your customer management needs. However, you should carefully examine how it functions compared to on-premise programs. The ease and convenience of the cloud also comes with some risks, so be sure to know how you plan to use your CRM software before committing to a specific system.

How Google Built Android

Description :

While Google will always be known primarily for their search engine and advertising platforms, the Android operating system has been a tremendous success. While multiple phones available from all cell phone companies, the Android platform has a larger user base than any other smart phone platform. How did they build Android?

Android is based on the Linux kernel. In addition, Google implements many of the tools used by Linux. As a result, those with a background in Unix and Unix-like operating systems feel at home when dealing with the internals of the operating system. In addition, Linux is open source, so the source code of Android will always be available to the public and to developers.

Google also decided to create its own bytecode for Android. Using the Java language and Java bytecode, Google allows developers to use the most popular programming language in the world for creating Android apps. The use of Java makes Google an easy platform for companies to target.

Diagrams will not only improve the looks of your website, but they will also make your post very interesting to read. By looking at the diagrams, readers will easily understand what you want to say even without going through whole post.

10 Serious Usability Mistakes, You Must Never Do

Description :

Usability relates to the user experience and satisfaction, which means to measure the satisfaction level when user visits your website.

10 Serious Usability Mistakes, You Must Never Do

To have more satisfied and happy users, you need to develop and design an interactive interface. Let us have a quick discussion on the mistakes, which you must avoid on your website :

Breaking the Web Design and Development Rules

The major factor of the failure of every website is its inappropriate development. If you develop your website incorrectly or poorly then the user experience will be worst. Development of any website majorly focuses on its design. Users always expect logos to appear on the top left corner, header in middle, and search option on the top right corner. These are the standards, which are provided to each designer and he needs to follow them. If he will ignore those standards, then it will definitely create hassle in future.

Pagination Used for the Wrong Purpose

Dividing content in many pages is called pagination. All those websites undergo pagination, which have lots of items i.e. gallery pictures, shopping cart, etc. Displaying too many items on one single page would leave a bad impact on the users. Instead of this, using the relevant pages i.e. order products page, product descriptions page, and much more is advised.

Insufficient Padding and Margins

Lack of sufficient padding and margins leave a bad impact on the users. You must provide users with visual comfort, which would surely let them spend a lot of time on your website. Basic CSS Box model can help you a lot in this regard because proper use of this CSS model would guarantee that your spacing would never interfere with any of your content. These little things must never be taken lightly.

Duplicate Page Titles

Page titles are texts we write within <title> tags. Creating generic title and then reusing it in the whole website is not recommended. It always leaves a poor impact on the usability as well as SEO standards of your website. Therefore, always use unique and attractive titles for your website.

Confusing Menus

This refers to all those sites, which allow users to interact using various menus in different ways i.e. obscure menu titles, confusing menu structure, and improper use of menus. Remember, nobody likes to find a ‘contact us’ option in finance page.

Content that is difficult to Scan

To make your website more usable, you cannot only depend on the good design but you need to have a good copy too. Copy relates to the content available on your website. Along with design, you must provide users the text readability to process information. This is an essential part of maintaining usability.

Broken Links

Broken links always give a bad user experience because they always create 404 Not Found Error for the visitor. That is why websites should be monitored regularly to avoid the broken links.

Non Functional Buttons

An awkward moment when you click any button on some website like submit, enter, signup, etc. and you get an error, this is broken or invalid database error. Moreover, you would be further teased by realizing that your data won’t be saved and you need to enter it again. This is one of the most basic usability flaws, you should avoid because this will push your users away from the site. Therefore, keep proper testing and maintenance of your website because the more you test, the more you will explore.

Extra Loading Time

Humans cannot wait more than 6-8 seconds and if your website is taking more time to load, then don’t expect the visitors to return to it. This includes removal of unnecessary plug-ins, heavy flash usage, and much more. Therefore, try to focus on satisfying your customers instead of annoying them.

Presentation Through Pop-Ups

In many cases, when the users visit the website, they have to turn on the pop-ups to view the content. It is never recommended to have them on any website because the users will always hate using those websites, which comprise of unstoppable pop-ups. It annoys them too much by constant interference and wasting their valuable time.

Final Words

People usually do these mistakes and the user has to face the serious problems. You should avoid them for better usability and to enhance facilitation for the users.
