Real Life Super Humans Via Robotic Software

Description :

Research for robotic-type suits for the military has been under the microscope, so to speak, since the 1990’s.

Real Life Super Humans Via Robotic Software

The first actual suit was unveiled in 2002 but it lacked power. As the advancement of technology birthed smaller and more versatile sensors as well as faster microprocessors, many researchers were becoming convinced that a wearable robot - exoskeleton -- should be further considered, developed and perfected; and it has, pending a few tweaks here and there. A compact box on the back of the robot-suit houses the on-board computer and the control systems.

Continued perfection is moving forward; and one research company, out of several, is working under a two-year, $10 Million grant from the U.S. Army. The realization of a motorized human is on the verge of completion. A handful of engineers are on the thresh-hold of fulfilling the military’s fantasy of mechanically-enhanced soldiers that would have the super-human ability to lift equipment weighing 200 pounds as if it were only 30-some ounces.

Using a sensor attached to the wearer’s skin, the exoskeleton detects brain signals sent to muscles. The on-board computer analyzes these signals to determine how it must move and with how much force.

Medical and Military Applications:

Medical:

The software that commands artificial muscles, as well as control systems, has applications beyond the military. For those who are wheel-chair bound, the possibilities are wide open and remain extremely tantalizing. Developed technology in the field of robotics software has been eagerly embraced by a variety of medical organizations which recognize and have responded to the need for better mobility beyond the wheelchair. An artificially-intelligent brace is being developed to allow paraplegics and the elderly to walk once again. The technology and mechanics involved very much parallel those of the military counterparts.

In 2009, intelligent braces and exoskeletons were used in more than 100 hospitals and welfare centers throughout Japan, with encouraging success. America’s medical arena has followed suit.

Military:

As stated, the military exoskeleton responds to movements of the wearer; and provides astonishing load-bearing assistance over any terrain. The user can support up to 220 pounds and walk continuously at a steady pace and cover over 12 miles without stopping and without exertion. Research is looking into using advanced fuel cells to provide up to 72 hours of continual use without impeding a soldier’s movements in any way.

Overview of Functioning:

Mechanical engineering as well as software engineering combine forces to prompt computer-assisted sensors to control the exoskeleton’s systems. A variety of sensors work in perfect harmony to determine force and position factors. The sensors are connected through the Ethernet to computer processors in each leg and arm joint, which stimulate the actuators which are, simply, mechanical devices that convert energy into motion. This delivers up to 200 kg per square centimeter of force through high-pressure hydraulics. As if that weren’t astounding enough, it should be noted that each joint in the arms and legs has its own processing capability and the joints stay in communication with each other on a constant basis.

While the world is accustom to helpful software applications like file sharing by RLink, this goes beyond the normal realms of technology. With everything in place, the wearer can lift 50 pounds placed in each hand while leaving the arm in a horizontally, extended position for a prolonged period of time with no effort --- Astounding!

How A Breathalyzer Works

Description :

Breathalyzers were scientifically developed in order to help law enforcement personnel to establish if an individual was driving while impaired due to alcohol.

How A Breathalyzer Works

The technical non-invasive devices can ascertain, if a driver is drunk so the driven can be removed from the road. Breathalyzers test the concentration of blood alcohol in the driver’s blood.

Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC)

Years ago the blood alcohol concentration level use to be 0.10. Now most states have a blood alcohol level of 0.08. This limit is also being lowered in some states to 0.05. The American Medical Association has stated that drivers with a level of 0.05 are impaired and should not be driving. A breathalyzer test showing that a driver has a level of 0.15, would prove that per 100 ml of blood, the driver shows 0.15 grams of alcohol present.

Fruit juice or milk is digested but the body does not digest alcohol. It is possible to determine the lever of alcohol by using a person’s breath because it is absorbed by the body. Alcohol goes immediately through the bloodstream and circulates until it is evaporated in the lungs. The molecules of alcohol do not mix with other liquids in the body. Alcohol is volatile in the blood because it is absorbed into the membranes of the mouth, stomach, intestines and throat. Blood passes through the lungs, which allows the alcohol to pass over the lungs air sacs and releases alcohol through the person’s breath. The breath that is being expelled holds the same amount of alcohol that is in the bloodstream. The breathalyzer can then accurately measure the evaporated alcohol through the breath. This is how the blood alcohol concentration is measured accurately for intoxication.

How the Evaporated Alcohol is Measured

Just like a diabetic kit with strips, levels of alcohol will produce chemical reaction on a piece of paper that will make the paper change color. When using a breathalyzer, the breath will travel through a solution. The solution will change color and the police officers will compare that color to the chart for intoxication levels.

The breathalyzer itself has a couple of different devices. There is a straw, which the offender will blow into so the person’s breath comes up from the lungs. The two cylinders with vials contain water, silver nitrate, sulfuric acid and potassium dichromate. A deep breath needs to pull air deep from the lungs.

Once the alcohol is removed from the air, it is absorbed by the liquid solution. The degree of change in color depends on the amount of evaporated alcohol that is in the breath taken from the offender. Only one vial has a chemical reaction. The other vial stays the same. An electrical current is produced which will make a needle on a gage to move. The officer operating the breathalyzer will watch the needle and wait for it to stop moving and then turn a knob to replace the needle to the point where it started. The more the knob has to be turned the higher amount of alcohol is in the solution. This will give the officer the reading level of intoxication.

5 Reasons For Your Business To Increase Security With Surveillance Cameras

Description :

The importance of video surveillance cannot be stressed enough. Some may feel an intrusion of privacy but the advantages are clear. They encourage a safer environment. They capture crucial footage when no one else is around.

5 Reasons For Your Business To Increase Security With Surveillance Cameras

And they also provide key evidence to prosecute criminals.

Without them it is very possible that some cases would have otherwise gone unsolved. Just recently authorities sifted through mounds of footage from surveillance cameras to identify the two bombing suspects at the Boston Marathon. Identifying these suspects would have been futile without surveillance.

Given their prominent usage it becomes almost impossible to imagine a world without them. Some have even called to add more cameras throughout their city.

There are numerous reasons to use a surveillance security system. Some are obvious including the ones listed above but others are hard to immediately identify until after their implementation.

If you have a business, the following are five reasons to install surveillance cameras in your premises.

1. Provides security footage

Imagine for a moment that you parked your vehicle. You leave for a few hours completely unaware that it is being broken into while you are away. Your heart sinks when you realize your vehicle is gone. Luckily you find out there is a surveillance camera installed nearby which identifies the suspect.

Car theft is more prominent than you think. Surveillance cameras are extremely useful for logging footage of designated areas in the event a mischievous activity occurs.

2. Encourages a safer environment

There is a reason why security cameras abound for some of the most prominent commercial areas such as financial institutions and airports. Not only do they capture every activity but they also encourage a safer environment. People are less inclined to do something reckless when there is increased security around.

And these systems send a powerful message. Knowing you are in a protected area also gives a sense of security.

3. Reduces fraudulent insurance claims

Having CCTV Cameras in your home or office also acts an insurance policy. If someone files a claim against you and you have irrefutable evidence to suggest otherwise, then the case will be in your favor. Having these systems installed helps keep you protected in such situations.

Security is especially important for retail stores where the chances of theft are high and being able to monitor inventory is crucial.

4. Protects staff members

Surveillance cameras are useful outside both outside and inside office buildings. Employees may feel uncomfortable with the thought of being monitored but in some situations it can capture footage of misconduct or even assault from other customers.

Such systems are invaluable for keeping detailed records of which areas personnel are accessing.

5. Remote monitoring

Constant monitoring of surveillance systems are unnecessary. Surveillance cameras can be set up to be viewed remotely online. This means you can keep a close eye on your home or business without even having to be there.

Conclusion

Surveillance Systems may not be able to prevent all situations but having them installed can really prove to be invaluable should the need arise. As a business owner, I've realized the benefits of taking extra safety precautions. Now, it's your turn.

The 5 Most Dangerous Buildings In The World

Description :

Mankind has achieved innumerable architectural marvels over thousands of years. The cutting edge technology used in construction today has not always been required to construct buildings that inspire awe and stagger the mind. However, many great building achievements are as dangerous as they are innovative. In many cases, the element of danger is what provides the construction with such thrilling intrigue. The following buildings are equal in their engineering accomplishments and elements of danger that they present to any visitors who dare enter.

Cliffside

China is home to the Hanging Temple. This building has stood for more than 1,400 years since the reign of the Northern Wei Dynasty. It faces a sheer drop of nearly 246 feet at the base of Mount Heng. This structure is actually the only temple in existence that serves as a place of worship for three individual religions: Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism. The temple is constructed of wood and contains 40 individual halls. Beams have been inserted into hand-chiseled fitting in the rock surface. Visitors brave enough to enter the temple will find over 80 Buddhist statues throughout the structure.

A Stone Tower

At 817 meters above sea level, Lichtenstein Castle in Germany is another structure that seems to totter on the side of a cliff. This castle was not the first to rest on this site. Previous structures had been built and fallen to ruins dating back to about the 1200's. Lichtenstein Castle was commissioned by Duke Wilhelm of Urach in 1840. Although the castle is still under royal ownership, the doors are open to the public that dare to make the trip skywards. Most visitors come for the view and to gaze at the collection of historic German weaponry and armor. Various castles on this site have utilized the popular architectural stylings of their day throughout the years. Lichtenstein adds to its allure high in the sky by employing Neo-Gothic traditions throughout its design.

A Delicate Balance

The Takasugi-an in Japan is perhaps the strangest and most insecure structure ever to be executed. The name literally translates to “a teahouse too high.” It was designed by its architect for his own private use. Built off-site, the one-room building was transported and installed at the top of two chestnut trees. It is constructed primarily of bamboo and plaster, and it can only be accessed by using a single, free-standing ladder that must be propped against the side of one of the supporting trees.

Working on an Incline

As though they were taking a cue from the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Puerta de Europa or in English, Gate of Europe, in Madrid, Spain features two buildings that lean towards one another at a 15 degree incline. Each tower stands 374 feet tall and features 26 floors. The identical towers hover ominously over pedestrians and drivers who can travel beneath their shadows. The project was completed in 1996 as a joint effort between an American and Spanish architectural firm.

An Icon of Architectural Mistakes

The Leaning Tower of Pisa is yet to collapse. This building is actually a bell tower for a central cathedral that went terribly wrong. It was five years after its initial construction in 1173 that it began it's unintended tilt to one side. The lean is due to the lack of solid ground resting beneath its foundation on one side. This side of the structure sinking into the ground is now submerged by over five feet, giving the 16,000 ton building less than stable footing.

Many of these structures are appealing to visitors for their unique qualities and dangerous appearance. While more adventurous people will flock to these as points of interest in their travels, those people who do not have thrill-seeking tendencies will be much happier enjoying photos from a safe distance on a stable foundation.

Record Breaking Wi-Fi

Description :

Researchers from the Fraunhofer Instiute at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology have set a new Wi-Fi speed record of 40GB per second - by creating new hardware and using higher radio frequencies.

Record Breaking Wi-Fi

The Dawning of a New Day

Essentially these researchers are now able to transmit 10 high-definition feature films per second, over a 0.6 mile distance. Their technology could fill a 4TB drive in under 100 seconds (1 min 40 seconds) when running at full speed (well, in theory it could, but currently no SSD or HDD could hope to keep up with it).

This development is excellent news for any gamer or movie addict as entire episodes or games could be downloaded within seconds, as opposed to hours - once it becomes commercially available. The motivation behind the project is to help Germany catch up to its neighbours as it is currently behind in terms of fibre network adoption.

In fact, the research, which was sponsored by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research to the tune of €2 million, was conducted to find an alternative to fibre optic cable. It seems that the researchers, at least, believe that they’ve succeeded with project leader, Professor Ingmar Kallfass, reporting that; “We have managed to develop a radio link based on active electronic circuits, which enables similarly high data rates as in fiber-optic systems, therefore allowing seamless integration of the radio link”.

Why it Works

Mashable’s Jesse Emspak explains that what makes this high-speed Wi-Fi possible is a combination of ‘better hardware’ and the use of higher radio frequencies. The “better hardware” is what researchers are calling their transmitter and receiver chips which are quite compact; measuring 4 x 1.5mm2 . Kallfass and his team believe that the set of chips could be integrated into compact ICs.

The second component is the use of higher radio frequencies - 240 gigahertz in this instance. Most Wi-Fi networks operate at either 2.4 or 5GHz and higher frequencies can experience atmospheric interference. It would seem, however, that 240 GHz is not affected and, as such massive amounts of data can be sent over this wavelength. Emspak explains that; “The high frequencies are necessary for moving lots of data - the number of bits that can travel over the airwaves is inversely proportional to the wavelength. The shorter the wavelength, the more data that can go in a given time”.

The technology has already been tested over a distance of one kilometer (linking two skyscrapers) and certainly seems to be quite robust when it comes to bad weather.

Possible Applications

Apart from faster download speeds in central areas, another application for the tech could be use in rural areas where it is too difficult to lay down fibre optic cables; as these transmissions will be able to go much further than a current Wi-Fi router could manage. Should this prove to be the case it would mean a breakthrough for people working between buildings or in the countryside.

At present the technology has not been made available commercially but, once it is it looks set to change the way many people around the world use their computers. Just think of the possibilities; email hosting services could be accessed from more locations, videos could be downloaded in the blink of an eye and people in areas that were traditionally isolated could soon have internet access. It truly is the dawning of a new day.

Keep pushing up higher! 💪

The Advantages Of Purchasing An Acer Laptop

Description :

When it comes to purchasing a laptop, the market is wide open. There are numerous brands and models to choose from and one of the most popular, as far as international sales are concerned, is Acer. Acer is actually the #2 laptop brand in the world (regarding overall sales). The brand offers dependability, affordability and portability, just to name a few of the primary features.

The Advantages Of Purchasing An Acer Laptop

With Acer, one of its best claims to its intrinsic value is its affordability in a growing and competitive market. This article is designed to provide some insight as to the advantages to owning an Acer laptop. This is not to establish it as the top brand, but to submit to you the advantages.

1. Memory

One of the most important elements of a laptop’s functionality is its memory. Acer is competitive in the amount of memory it offers standard. Acer Laptops come with a variance of memory space, and carry the capability to easily add more memory in a short period of time. The memory can be increased at the time of purchase with very little impact to the total prices. Memory can also be added as an aftermarket addition with minimal costs.

2. Portability

Another important feature on any laptop is portability, which is reflected in the size and weight of the laptop. Acer offers a number of laptops and notebooks that are extremely portable while remaining highly functional. Even when the models increase in screen size, the weight of the device, has a whole, allows it to be easily managed. These laptops can be easily stored in the average backpack or carrying case.

3. Wireless Capability

The entire point of portability is to have accessibility. Having multiple wireless options allows the user to stay connected and have the accessibility to the web and business remote networks. You can connect to home based WiFi systems, public networks, and even Bluetooth devices, such as printers, headsets, and more.

4. Connectivity

The ability to have connection adaptability is extremely important when choosing a laptop. As network and WiFi connections vary your computer’s ability to adapt to those variations and facilitate a seamless connection is quite necessary. Acer laptops also support multiple connectivity ports for USB drives and Ethernet connections. With some of the lower priced laptops, there is a letdown is connectivity and network sharing capability. This is not the case with Acer. Acer provides a great computing experience at a reasonable price.

5. Affordability

All of the different features and capabilities of the Acer (its affordability may very well be its best feature), makes it a great value and a viable alternative to some of the more well-known brands. Are there brands out there that provide features that are not standard or available on Acer? Yes, but as a general rule, you will see those additional features reflected in the price. If those special features that sit outside the standard capabilities of Acer laptops are not absolutely necessary for you, then you will be surprisingly satisfied with an Acer laptop.

Go-Go-Gadget : Advancements In Home Technology

Description :

Your home is meant to be a safe haven for you, your family, and your possessions so it would make sense to protect your home with a security system that best suits your needs

Go-Go-Gadget : Advancements In Home Technology

With the advancement in technology, guarding your home from predators can be affordable and leave you with peace of mind every time you leave the house. There are also simpler options to attempt to deter home intruders for those who aren't able or ready to install a home security system.

Security Systems

Security systems have advanced greatly over the years and include many new features such as the ability to monitor and control the security system from your smart phone, wireless and cellular technology so that the alarm system cannot be disconnected by cutting the line, and 24-hour monitoring. These security systems are not just meant to deter burglars but also send alerts for fire, flooding, and carbon monoxide poisoning. This is the best option to assure that your home and family are safe from any disaster whether you are in the home, at work, or on vacation.

Home Automation

Turn your home into a smart home by controlling lights, locks, and cameras throughout the premises. Like a home security system, you can basically control your home using your smart phone. Turn on lights before you walk into your house, monitor cameras while you are away or at work, and unlock doors if a guest needs to get into your home before you arrive. If something out of the ordinary happens such as lights turning on, locks being undone, or even temperature changes, you will receive an alert on your smart phone allowing you to monitor the situation, check for intruders, and prevent home disasters such as fires.

Home Security Gadgets

If you aren't ready to have a home security system installed, there are gadgets out there that are meant to deter burglars. These include a fake television deterrent, which is basically a LED light that flickers so that from the outside, it looks as if someone is watching television and a motion detector that, when activated, will produce the sound of a barking dog. There are also fake security cameras that you can place throughout the outside of your home and also home security stickers that you can place on your doors making it look as if you have a home security system installed. These obviously do not guarantee that your home won't be broken into but it will deter a lot of thieves from targeting your house.

Whether it is a home security system or home automation, both of these allow you to continually monitor and control your home to prevent disasters and burglars. The most important thing is to do your research. Once you decide on the best security options for your home, find out which companies offer the best services and affordable pricing. Don't assume that a home burglary or fire won't happen to you. These disasters can happen at any time so it is best to be prepared and make sure your family's safety comes first.

What Are The Best Bluetooth Headsets?

Description :

Bluetooth headsets are becoming more and more popular for people who love to take their music with them but don't want to hassle with carrying around an MP3 player as well as a cell phone. Most cell phones today can easily double as an MP3 player and with Bluetooth technology, there's no reason to have wires strung around your body so you can listen to your style of music in complete privacy. Also, having a Bluetooth headset means you don't have to drag your phone out of your pocket every time it rings, nor do you have to hold the phone to your ear which means you can keep your hands free to do other things such as continuing to work.

What Are The Best Bluetooth Headsets?

So which headset type will be best for your needs? If your main need for a headset is to answer the phone quickly and easily while keeping your hands free, then you'll want a device that hangs off of one ear. If your main goal is to enjoy your music while having the convenience of answering your phone if it rings, you'll want a headset that covers both ears so you can have the full stereo experience for your tunes.

Here are some of the best Bluetooth single-ear options for you:

- Plantronics

- Samsung

- Jabra

- Jawbone

Here are some of the best Bluetooth stereo headset options:

- Nokia

- Plantronics

- Jabra

- LG

Manufacturers will have several different models which will give you a combination of price versus performance ranges you'll have to examine to find the best fit for your needs and your budget. Some of the parameters you'll be considering will be battery life (both in-use and idle), range, price, audio quality and phone compatibility. Also keep in mind that some versions of these headsets are also earbuds so if you're uncomfortable with an earbud, you'll want to take notice.

Keep in mind that while Bluetooth headsets are offered by most cell phone carriers such as Verizon and T-Mobile either as an option or as part of an accessory package, these are essentially headsets from one of the above manufacturers with the cell phone carrier's label on it and a premium price attached. Unless you're getting an exceptional deal on your accessories package through your carrier, you'll be better off looking for your Bluetooth headset elsewhere.

Today, Bluetooth headsets are easy to find and are relatively inexpensive. One of the best ways to find the perfect Bluetooth headset for you is to shop online at some of the big box retailers and electronics suppliers. This enables you to compare all the available features of each headset and once you've decided on which headset you want, you can then search for the best price. Bluetooth headsets make cell phones a lot easier to deal with and a lot more private as well and as inexpensive as a quality Bluetooth headset is, taking advantage of that ease of use is well worth the investment.

Four Benefits Of Private Cloud Computing

Description :

In the IT industry, cloud computing is all the rage. Private cloud computing is one deployment model of cloud computing wherein the resources of the cloud is used only by one organization or one client.

Four Benefits Of Private Cloud Computing

Private cloud computing still provides services in a virtual manner just like the other cloud computing models but with increased control and privacy that comes with the cloud being used by just one client. What you get from cloud computing are essentially the similar benefits of using a local access network but with the advantage of virtualization. Here are more insights to private cloud computing:

1. Security

The thing about public clouds is that they come with their own privacy and security mechanisms which ensure that information stored in these clouds are protected. The thing about private clouds is that you are given more options with regards to safeguarding information. You can make use of techniques that will restrict connections so that information can be kept out of the prying eyes of malicious individuals.

2. Control

Since a private cloud is accessible only to one organization or client, this enables users to configure their private cloud according to how the organization sees fit. Modifications of the cloud cannot be done if it is public in nature since the changes can affect the rest of the users. If you need your cloud to work in a certain manner, a private deployment model is the best way to go.

3. Cost

When it comes to running a business, cost efficiency is always a huge part of keeping your organization from being in the red. Unlike using a public cloud, a private cloud will make sure that you have all the resources that every division of your organization can utilize. Smaller organizations with lesser divisions may not be able to appreciate the cost-effectiveness of using a private cloud but when you need to make use of more storage and computing resources which a private cloud can easily deliver.

4. Reliability

When an operating environment is virtualized, just like the case of private clouds, this usually leads to increased reliability, and failures are handled more efficiently compared to when you are using computing resources that rely on physical servers. This is because the workload is channelled to another part of the virtual server which is not affected in case of a downtime. And with third-party hosting, users can still take advantage of the physical security advantages which data centers confer on their infrastructure.

Businesses and major companies have already seen the benefits of private clouds. In fact, this is an answer to their growing needs. Private cloud computing allows many organization to be efficient. It also requires less energy, thus promoting earth-friendly goals. Using regular servers based on-site may actually cost more and a cheaper and efficient alternative such as private cloud deployment model is a wise choice.

With so many cloud deployment models available, it is only a must to understand the cloud resources. Since they are easily scalable, an organization may alter this base on its needs.

HTC One Vs Samsung Galaxy S4: Which One Should You Buy?

Description :

They’re the two new kids on the smartphone block. But when it comes to picking the difference between the latest offerings from smartphone experts HTC and Samsung, it can be tricky to decide which cool new device is the right one for you.

HTC One Vs Samsung Galaxy S4: Which One Should You Buy?

The answer really depends on who you are and what you want from your phone. To help you make the decision between these phones that are fresh off the conveyor belt, here is a run down of each of their best features.

For a reputable brand with reliable support: The Samsung Galaxy S4

When we expect so many things from our phones, it is inevitable that not all of these things will work perfectly for the amount of time that we use our device. Smartphones are designed with a short life-span in mind, but sometimes this can be too short.

So, if you’re after a strong support service and a brand you can trust, it is probably best to stick with the Samsung, as it is a larger company with a better reputation for solid customer service.

For a pretty phone: The HTC One

It sounds really vain to choose a phone on the basis of its looks, but if you (or your teenage daughter) prioritise aesthetics above all other features, than the HTC One is the smartphone for you. Its contoured aluminium edges and pleasing home screen design make for a welcome change from the functionalist, plastic style of the Samsung. The HTC One also comes with a strong metal case, which looks a lot nicer than the flimsy plastic one that comes standard with the Samsung.

For extra storage space: The Samsung Galaxy S4

If you’re the sort of person who needs an SD card full of all of your movies, photos, songs and games sitting in your smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S4 should be your pick. The Samsung has expandable storage, which means that you can keep more of your stuff on your phone, without needing to offload onto a home device (like a laptop or a hard drive.) The HTC One does not allow for expandable storage, so you’re stuck with the 32 or 64GB memory with no opportunity to use additional memory cards.

For a cost-effective solution: Possibly either, but your best bet will probably be the HTC One

If you want the cheapest contract you can get for a high quality smartphone, the HTC One should be the phone that you are enquiring after. Most major phone dealers are offering their cheapest plan for the HTC One at a lower rate than their cheapest plan for the Samsung S4, but it will depend on your provider.

For great battery life: Either

Both the Samsung and the HTC report similar battery life - unfortunately, neither is that astounding when it comes to the juice in the phone. So, ultimately, it just comes down to which features are the most important to how you use your phone, rather than how long you use it for between charges.

How Prepaid Mobile Increases Convenience, Efficiency & Accessibility

Description :

Whether we want to admit it or not, technology plays an irreplaceable part in our lives. Some of us have grown up with it to the point that using it has become second nature, while others have had to fight through the learning process to fit into this new mode of communication that shapes both our business and personal interaction. Surely, the fact that modern society depends so heavily on technology is nothing new to us.

How Prepaid Mobile Increases Convenience, Efficiency & Accessibility

But, perhaps without realizing it, we have also become accustomed to three basic qualities that technology offers us to make our daily lives easier. These qualities are convenience, efficiency, and accessibility, and one of the most important pieces of technology that should offer these qualities is the mobile phone. Everyone has one, people use them constantly, and they are what links us to our friends, family, and business associates.

Therefore, you will certainly want to pick the right mobile plan for yourself that offers all three of these things. And with a Prepaid Mobile plan, you are likely to find everything that you are looking for!

Mobile Phones: The Embodiment of Convenient Communication

Let’s start with the first point: convenience. For a mobile phone to not be convenient would be a blatant contradiction to why it was invented, so it goes without saying that pretty much any mobile plan should offer the user convenience. But the degree of convenience is an important matter to look into, and with a Prepaid Mobile plan, you will find that convenience for customers has been made a top priority! Some providers specialize in plans where you can do everything online if you’d like, without even leaving the comfort of your home. They allow you to purchase prepaid SIM cards online, and activate them online as well. How is that for convenience? And if you would prefer to buy it in person, you can often do that at any participating store with little hassle!

With convenient and easy to use plans like these, you really can’t go wrong. Plus, these providers often offer zero contracts to sign, so that means you are free to come and go as you please. That would be a hard opportunity to pass up.

The Ever-Efficient Prepaid Mobiles

As for efficiency, many Prepaid Mobile Plans have much to offer in that area as well. They offer the customer non-complicated PINS and codes, and exceptional line quality as well! This helps the customer communicate with others efficiently because it prevents those annoying issues that can tend to crop up when you don’t have the best plan for you. These are issues like bad reception, lines getting cut off, or even forgetting your PIN and other access codes, disabling you from accessing voicemail and other programs through your phone.

With a Prepaid Mobile Plan, you can say goodbye to all of those issues, and hello to an efficient and easy plan that will keep you connected with no glitches or frustration!

Accessibility at the Forefront

Now for the last and possibly most important feature that a mobile phone should support: accessibility. Many Prepaid Mobile Plans allow for cheap access to international calling. For instance, some may give customers 30 days of unlimited national calls, exceptional amounts of data storage, and extremely cheap international calling deals. These prepaid plans give accessibility a new name, as their international rates can start as low as 0c per minute and include an extensive expiry date period! With a Prepaid Mobile Plan, you can access anyone, from any country in the in the world at unbeatable rates! Plus, you will likely be able to enjoy access to a dedicated mobile network of connections!

Conclusion

There is no denying that we live in a much more fast paced society than the generations before us did. Everything is go, go, go, and there is no longer any excuse to fall behind. Mobile phones have given us the gift of never having to be cut off from communicating with others. But it is only really effective when you choose a Prepaid Mobile Plan that offers the 3 pillars modern society is based on - convenience, efficiency, and accessibility. It’s important not to let yourself feel lost and frustrated. Check out a plan - you will likely find one that works for you! Introducing Google Glass - A Closer Look

Description :

People nowadays want so desperately to own the must-have accessory and the next major technology trend. The advancement of technology and the research studies over the last years has been unprecedented. The human race is progressing at an amazing rate and it`s undeniable and in evidence, that the way we interact with each other, has dramatically changed because of technology.

Introducing Google Glass - A Closer Look

Technological advances are inventions like Glasses with Virtual Reality, Androids, Nanotechnology, Brain Digitizing, Toroidal Machines, Computer Controlled Economy, Colonization of other planets and other futuristic ideas. There is a limit on technology only if there is a lack of imagination! And Google knows this well. But to create a new kind of wearable technology, that’s a real bet and messy at points.

Tech Specs - What's Inside

Google is always pushing it's creativity limits, and Project Glass is no exception. The new and revolutionary augmented reality glasses were designed to help you live in the moment -- even when you’re falling from the sky. It's a headset with a camera, a projected display, and a data connection, that presents information in the form of "cards". These cards are arranged on a "Timeline," which you can navigate through by swiping left and right on the headset's touchpad (Hair is a problem here. Sometimes they fall over the pad and interfere with operation). You can listen to music, take photos and videos, read and send text messages, engage in Google Hangouts, search Google, see headlines from The New York Times and much more. It’s actually your Smartphone with Google on your face.

It runs on Android, but can connect to both Android and iOS devices. It comes powered by a dual-core Texas Instruments (TI) OMAP 4430 processor, 1GB of RAM and can connect via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth to your laptop, your phone or a home Wi-Fi network, or even work alone as an offline camera or as a disconnected video recorder. The 5-megapixel camera can capture 720p videos, by default. It has 16GB of internal storage and a battery that can last a day. Luckily, the titanium frame is strong and flexible. You can bend and adjust it for an individual fit.

The elite of the tech world have decided already that Google’s groundbreaking eyewear ecosystem is the future. The product has captured the imagination of technologists and consumers and drawn a fair amount of media attention. There is a dynamic on the horizon and perhaps they're right. There is a new way of seeing our relationship with our mobile computers and people are excited about this glorified eye-mounted camera/computer.

What's Not To Like?

There are, however, a number of people who are afraid or do not understand the importance of this product. Personally i want to see the world, i don't really want to see the world "differently". And i’m concerned that devices like this will hide the world more than expose it. It could also cause a public uproar over privacy concerns. Let’s say why do we need our Facebook notifications popping up in our eyes? If we are focusing on Facebook notifications and tweets popping up - what are we missing that's right in front of us in the real world?

Yes, Google Glass appears to be a nice-looking device, it’s all the talk in the wearable tech space, but for the rest of us it’s just a neat idea that brings only excitement. Is the potential worth the risk? Does it really deliver value in practice? Who would wear these in public? What about hacking warnings and security risks? What about downsides like Wi-Fi next to the brain or the open to a whole new level of spyware? It seems we are beginning to take everything for granted like the example below:

- "Ok Glass, what’s the weather?"

- "Look out the window”

What they are not taking in consideration is also that unless they are very cool sun glasses no one likes to wear glasses. They look very uncomfortable and people think you are like a cyborg from a fictional movie.

Conclusion:

We’re looking forward to it, but so far, the limitation of Google Glass shows that this is an immature product and a yet to be understood platform. It’s an interesting techno-social experiment but an experiment with limitations. It’s just another cool device in our lives to explore.

Meet The World's Smallest Flying Robot: The RoboBee

Description :

Hello THE OFFICIAL ANDREASCY lovers! 😍👍

As you already know, I'm working a lot these days and this is something that takes a lot of my personal time. It keeps me away from my Blog, but I'm still active on social media.

Ok let's see today's topic. A team of Science folks came up with something interesting that really toke our attention. Researchers at the Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) put a decade's work into developing the penny-sized robot, before it took off for the first time.

Meet The World's Smallest Flying Robot: The RoboBee

They have created a robot the size of a fly that makes uses of smart composite materials and piezoelectric technology performing the agile manoeuvres of an insect. RoboBee, which is built from carbon fiber, weighs a fraction of a gram and has super-fast electric "muscles" to power its wings that can even sit on a fingertip.

Meet The World's Smallest Flying Robot: The RoboBee

A recent paper lays out the progress of the robot’s fabrication and flight, but two major hurdles remain in the RoboBee’s flightpath. One hurdle is how to power the bee and the other is how to give it a digital brain small enough to keep the bee in flight.

In the video below (Video courtesy of Kevin Ma and Pakpong Chirarattananon) demonstrating RoboBee’s maneuvering capabilities, you can see that the current prototypes are still connected to computers and power sources. Scientists hope to cut the cord as the project develops, until they can create entirely autonomous colonies of these.

It’s simultaneously frightening and exciting. Guess what military will do with it! 😮
