How To Care For Your Motorola Batteries

Motorola batteries are manufactured using the latest cutting-edge production technology. The batteries enable smooth two way radio communication and you must take good care of them. Here are some battery care tips that will help you optimize performance: 

1. Always charge your batteries in the night before using them in the day. This process is referred to as “initializing,” and it helps you derive maximum mileage from your Motorola batteries. Here are a couple of specific tips: Charge Nickel Cadmium and Nickel Metal Hydride batteries for about 15 hours; Continue charging Lithium Ion/Polymer batteries for up to 2 hours after the charger light glows steady-green.

2. Motorola has launched IMPRES batteries, which come with an Impres charger. This charger shows the calibration cycle, which glows yellow till the battery is fully charged – and then it goes green. Remember, you should not stop the charging process or remove the batteries until they are completely charged (a steady green light indicates that the batteries are fully charged). Leave non-Impres batteries for an extra 1-2 hours in the charger after the steady-green light materializes.

3. New batteries that have yet to be initialized must be stored in cool, dry and very well ventilated place. This will kill any potential capacity loss and enhance battery cycle life. If you follow these rules, you can store Nickel Cadmium up to 2 years and Nickel Metal Hydride and Lithium Ion/Polymer for up to 1.5 years.

4. If you want to remove used Motorola batteries from service for more than 30 days then you should ensure that such batteries are 50% discharged. After removing batteries, store them in a cool and dry place.

5. If you intend to use batteries that have been in storage for over two months, then you must fully discharge and then recharge these. Remember to follow the charging protocols specified in #1 above.

6. Never leave your 100% charged battery in the charger because that will shorten battery life. Also, refrain from using the charger as a radio stand.

7. Do not charge a battery when it is not required. The golden rule is - if it is not fully discharged, do not recharge it. Always carry a spare to overcome this problem.

8. Before recharging Motorola batteries ensure that the room temperature is stable at around 72 degrees F. Do not charge batteries when temperatures are below 40 degrees F or above 104 degrees F.

Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Upgrade for DROID RAZR & DROID RAZR MAXX

Two Motorola phones making the global jump to Android's latest Operating System. The DROID RAZR and the DROID RAZR MAXX by Motorola are the first 4G LTE smartphones on the Verizon Wireless network to be Global Ready.

If you’re the owner of a Motorola Droid RAZR or Droid RAZR Maxx, the day you’ve been waiting for is finally here. As promised by a Verizon, the Android 4.0 update for the RAZR Devices is finally here. You don’t have to wait for it to get pushed to your device, just go out and get it on your own.

- To get the update, simply go to Settings > About phone > and check for a system update. The update should be available, and once applied, you should be rocking Android 4.0 in no time.

Ice Cream Sandwich features upgraded functionality and new features, such as Face Unlock. By looking directly at the screen, the smartphone recognizes its owner and automatically unlocks the device. It also includes Direct Access Lock Screen, which allows you to easily open camera, text messages, and dialer from the lock screen. 

Customers can use the front camera to video chat with friends and family to share summer stories or even just to wave hello. The new Video Calling icon makes it easy to access video chatting apps like ooVoo and Tango.

Motorola MT917 Smartphone Brings Extreme Design and Extreme Speed to China Mobile Customers

We'd heard rumors that Motorola might be working on some extremely high-spec devices for the Chinese market - a place where the company has had good footing for many years - and here we go : Give a warm welcome to the new MT917 Android, a smartphone with a 4.5-inch 1280x720p display and a 13-megapixel camera, an amazing combination of extreme good looks, extreme power and extreme TD-SCDMA speed. 

At just 8.5mm thin and protected by KEVLAR fiber (not unlike the RAZR series), scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass, a zinc frame and splash guard coating inside and out, this is one device that doesn't compromises in style or durability. So review your e-mails, work on a document, or take in a movie during your next business-flight.

The phone is destined for China Mobile's TD-SCDMA 3G service, so American and European imports won't benefit from high-speed data - but it's an encouraging sign that Motorola is right in the thick of the 720p hunt kicked off by devices like HTC's Rezound and Samsung's Galaxy Nexus. Look for the MT917 to launch in mid-December.

Motorola XOOM 2 and XOOM 2 Media Edition

Hey guys, what's up? :) Well here we go! Today we bring to you some interesting news from Motorola.

After months of leaked specs and images, Motorola's finally decided to officially announce its Xoom 2 and Xoom 2 Media Edition, though just in the UK for now. Just as we've been hearing for months, the two match each other in almost every way save for screen size - the Motorola XOOM 2 has a 10.1 - inch screen, just like on its predecessor. 

It's reinforced with Corning Gorilla Glass and Motorola's own splash - resistant coating for even better protection. Under the hood, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor brings plenty of software muscle and there's 1GB of RAM to back it up. 

All of that is packaged in an ultra slim 0.35” (8.8mm) body and spiced up with a very durable battery delivering around 10 hours of battery life. There's also a 5MP camera on the back, and a 1.3MP shooter up front and you can record images and video to the 16GB of internal memory. Also it runs Android 3.2 (no Ice Cream Sandwich for launch, though Motorola says it'll come eventually, just as with the original Xoom)

So when are the two finally hitting stores? No word on US availability yet (though we're betting Verizon chimes in sooner rather than later), but it will be hitting UK and Ireland in mid - November for £329.99 ($528) in Media Edition flavor and £379.99 ($609) for the standard Xoom 2.
