Leave it to Verizon FiOS to come up with a home Internet speed that goes beyond anything you've ever experienced.
Whether you're stream HD video, plugging multiple devices into your home IP connection or uploading family videos for friends and relatives, Verizon's new 300 Mbps downstream and 65 Mbps upstream gives consumers all the speed they need now and down the road.
FiOS blew the doors off the competition when Verizon unveiled its 150/35 speed about 18 months ago. Now they're doubling down and you win.
The Motorola Kopin Golden-i is being showcased at the Verizon booth at CES 2012, demonstrating Industrial uses such as Construction, Medical, Public safety, Utilities and more.
Imagine walking around with a head-mounted 15" display to view informations available to you at all times.
This system features a pretty cool six-axis position tracker from Hillcrest Labs that allows you to operate a cursor with nearly pixel-for-pixel accuracy by just moving around your head when for example panning around a large image or a map. There is a highly targetted microphone that understands voice-commands where you can for example zoom in on maps or images, you can exit back to the programs menu, launch specific applications and open specific files.

If you’re the owner of a Motorola Droid RAZR or Droid RAZR Maxx, the day you’ve been waiting for is finally here. As promised by a Verizon, the Android 4.0 update for the RAZR Devices is finally here. You don’t have to wait for it to get pushed to your device, just go out and get it on your own.
- To get the update, simply go to Settings > About phone > and check for a system update. The update should be available, and once applied, you should be rocking Android 4.0 in no time.
Ice Cream Sandwich features upgraded functionality and new features, such as Face Unlock. By looking directly at the screen, the smartphone recognizes its owner and automatically unlocks the device. It also includes Direct Access Lock Screen, which allows you to easily open camera, text messages, and dialer from the lock screen.
Customers can use the front camera to video chat with friends and family to share summer stories or even just to wave hello. The new Video Calling icon makes it easy to access video chatting apps like ooVoo and Tango.
The upgrade also enhances the voice input technology, typing your words as you speak emails or texts. Speak continuously for paragraphs at a time, add punctuation and even edit mistakes with voice input.
As a Global Ready device, customers with the DROID RAZR and DROID RAZR MAXX will be able to have voice and data service in more than 220 countries, when subscribed to an international plan.

Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX is a slightly thicker twin of the DROID RAZR, coming with a larger battery to boost its battery life. All other specifications remain the same. The new iPad is here. Apple officialy announced a new version of its hit tablet on Wednesday, adding more power, an optional 4G Internet connection, and a supersharp HD display, but keeping the overall look and feel of the previous model.
The changes may disappoint Apple fans who hoped for a radically redesigned gadget. But given the iPad's huge success, a few upgraded features might well be enough to keep its position as the world's top tablet, and Apple's status as the world's most valuable company. (Check Apple's stock price here.) The company will also continue to sell the current iPad 2 model at a discounted price.
Apple CEO Tim Cook and other company execs showed off the new iPad at a media event at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, Calif.
High-Resolution Retina Display
As expected, the new iPad features a screen with roughly twice the resolution of the iPad 2. The Retina display, as Apple calls it, first debuted in the iPhone 4 and quickly drew raves for its crisp, detailed images. The iPad's 2048x1536 display makes it the first Apple tablet able to show movies in full HD.

More Powerful Processor
The new device also has an A5X processor with quad-core graphics. The added power will help keep the Retina display running smoothly.
Speedy 4G Internet Connection
Apple is offering a 4G connection through both AT&T and Verizon on its new iPad. It's the first Apple device to feature the fast wireless technology.
Battery Life, Size, and Weight
The new device can run for 10 hours, said Apple Vice President Phil Schiller. It will last nine hours when on 4G. It weighs 1.4 pounds, and is 9.4 mm thick.
Pricing and Release Date
The new iPad is available in several models. A basic 16GB model costs $499. 32GB is $599 and 64GB is $699. Models with 4G connections cost $629, $729, and $829, respectively.
It will be available March 16, Cook said.
Official Name and Other Features
After months of speculation about whether Apple would call it the iPad 3, iPad HD, or something else, the company simply called it "the new iPad".

- It does not have an SD card slot, as some Apple fans had hoped.

- Tech sites covered Apple event obsessively, as usual. Few writers were surprised by the new tablet, but most were impressed nonetheless.
CNET's Donald Bell said the new Retina display is the only new feature buyers should care about. "The company took its already excellent product and updated it with a gorgeous screen," he writes. He recommends that iPad 2 owners resist the temptation to upgrade, and suggests new tablet buyers also consider cheaper options like the Kindle Fire.
"Unsurprisingly, Apple has managed to produce something that's truly beautiful to look at,"Engadget's Darren Murph wrote. The upgrades could be enough to convince owners of the original iPad that it's time to trade up, he predicted.
Gizmodo's Jesus Diaz also said the new Retina display was enough to set the iPad apart from its rivals. "It's almost like looking at a glossy magazine page," he writes. The Verge's Joshua Topolsky was similarly impressed, calling the screen "stunning to behold."
Older iPad 2 Still Available for $399
Apple will continue to sell the current version of Apple's tablet for $100 less than the new model. The device will have 16GB of memory and Wi-Fi, but no 3G or 4G Internet connection.
New Software
Apple is offering an updated versions of iWork, Garageband, and iMovie that are optimized for the new iPad's A5X processor and Retina display. There is also a new version of iPhoto for iPad that offers multi-touch editing and sharing tools called Photo Journals and Photo Beaming. Apple also showed off a new iPad game, Infinity Blade Dungeons, which featured incredibly detailed graphics.
Apple TV Upgrade Also Unveiled
Apple also showed off a new version of its Apple TV device, which lets users stream audio and video from iTunes. The new gadget has an improved interface and supports 1080p resolution for full HD video. The price remains the same at $99.
Tablet Competition Heating up
The iPad dominates the hot tablet market, but it's facing increased competition. A report by Forrester Research estimated the iPad had 73 percent of the tablet market as of last September. But that was before Amazon's hot-selling $199 Kindle Fire debuted. The market research firm iSuppli estimates Amazon shipped 3.9 million Kindle Fires in the fourth quarter of 2011, compared with 15.4 million iPads shipped by Apple.
With a gorgeous new display and other improvements, the new iPad may be enough to keep Apple's hot streak alive.

HTC has officialy announced the HTC Rezound which will land on Verizon on November 14th. The Rezound sports a 1,5GHZ Dual - core Qualcomm MSM 8660 processor, 1Gb of DDR2 Ram, 16 Gb of internal storage and a 16 Gb MicroSD card. It will ship with Android 2.3, Gingerbread but HTC says it's commited to an Ice Cream Sandwich update as soon as possible.
The HTC Rezound is HTC's first smartphone with a 720p resolution display, just like the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. As for the camera you are looking at an 8 - megapixel sensor and 1080p video recording. There is a 2 - megapixel camera in the front of the device.
And, of course, there's that Beats Audio. "You should have the best audio experience in your mobile experience" they said at the launch event. You also get a set of Beats earbuds with your Rezound.

Why can’t we program the Internet? Today everything is programmable, your computer, your mobile phone and even your dish washer. The internet connects millions or even billions of programmable devices through routers and switches that are all programmable too, yet the internet itself is not programmable.
Researchers from Stanford University and the University of California (UCLA), Berkeley, frustrated by this lack of flexibility of the internet and networks in general therefore developed a protocol called OpenFlow. With this protocol integrated in network hardware, it becomes possible to reprogram these devices to perform new tricks. Experiments have already shown that such technologies could dramatically reduce energy consumption by rerouting traffic and shutting down unused switches and routers or, on the other hand, speed up for instance video streaming by prioritizing data.
The Open Networking Foundation (ONF) has since been formed, grouping over 20 companies including Google, Facebook, Cisco and Verizon, with the intention of making open and programmable networks mainstream. Now the first products implementing the protocol are being announced. HP recently released updates to enable 16 of its switches in the 3500, 5400 and 8200 series to support OpenFlow technology and plans to extend support to additional products. Big Switch Networks has released an open-source package for building OpenFlow network architectures. Dubbed Floodlight and available under an Apache license, it implements an OpenFlow controller designed and built in Java.
Hey guys, what's up? :) Well here we go! Today we bring to you some interesting news from Motorola.
After months of leaked specs and images, Motorola's finally decided to officially announce its Xoom 2 and Xoom 2 Media Edition, though just in the UK for now. Just as we've been hearing for months, the two match each other in almost every way save for screen size - the Motorola XOOM 2 has a 10.1 - inch screen, just like on its predecessor.
It's reinforced with Corning Gorilla Glass and Motorola's own splash - resistant coating for even better protection. Under the hood, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor brings plenty of software muscle and there's 1GB of RAM to back it up.
All of that is packaged in an ultra slim 0.35” (8.8mm) body and spiced up with a very durable battery delivering around 10 hours of battery life. There's also a 5MP camera on the back, and a 1.3MP shooter up front and you can record images and video to the 16GB of internal memory. Also it runs Android 3.2 (no Ice Cream Sandwich for launch, though Motorola says it'll come eventually, just as with the original Xoom)
So when are the two finally hitting stores? No word on US availability yet (though we're betting Verizon chimes in sooner rather than later), but it will be hitting UK and Ireland in mid - November for £329.99 ($528) in Media Edition flavor and £379.99 ($609) for the standard Xoom 2.
