5 Tips To Improve Your App Marketing

Description :

The app market is like a beehive. Just like bees, there are hundreds of thousands of apps in the hive and having one app in particular stand out is extremely challenging.

5 Tips To Improve Your App Marketing

Marketing costs may be something an app developer fears will cut into the apps profits. Also, with the rapidly changing market, tactics that work one day will be useless the next. This makes planning a long term marketing strategy seem difficult. Below you will find tips that will not eat up your apps profits and also have been very solid strategies that, so far, stand the test of time in the changing mobile marketplace.

1. Everyone Uses Social Media, So Should Your Apps

Every company, big or small, should utilize social media to their benefit in every way possible. Social media is an ideal tool for building brand awareness and keeping in touch with your apps community. Communicating with your app users keeps your reviews positive in the app store. You want to ensure customers accentuate the positives of your app much more than the negatives some may find, and if the only outlet is your app review process, it could potentially be harmful to your app's success. Not every customer will be satisfied, and it is best kept that in mind.

2. Make Use Of Ad Networks

An affiliate ad company can help your app raise revenue. A click-through rate of 1%, which does not seem like much, when advertising your app can boost your ratings in the Apple store. It is vital you find an ad company to publish your app ad in front of your target audience. Not every ad company may provide the results you want, so it may take a bit of testing the waters among various companies.

3. Go Organic

The Apple store, and Google Play differ much in what drives the ranks of apps. As discussed above, the Apple store relies on ad-driven links. Google Play ranks apps depending on how high is the usage. The more a customer uses a download of your app, the higher the apps rank rises. Below, you will learn how to help your app rise the ranks in Google Play.

4. Keep The Coming Back For More

Rewards for your loyal users help to keep them using your apps. Using push notifications you can offer your users special discounts and other benefits. If the app is a game, perhaps a reward could be a specific item for the player to use. There is no number to the rewards to be offered to customers, and they don't have to cost you a thing.

5. Make Your Own Market

Market your apps within your other apps. Introduce users to the different apps with internal banners, push notifications and links. Existing users can click through and try your other apps this way, and you are increasing your app downloads and usage per app. It is a common practice, and very successful strategy used by many developers.

The Sum Of Its Parts: Every tip mentioned in this article can be used to create a dynamic marketing strategy for your apps. Large financial risks are not required, and you will find that each tip requires a time investment more than marketing money. If you stay vigilant, and monitor your apps, success is not as far out of reach as you may initially have thought.

Bad Piggies - The Piggest Game Ever Made by Angry Birds Makers

Description :

Bad Piggies will give you a chance to finally see the pig picture and take the role of the infamous green antagonists.

Bad Piggies - The Piggest Game Ever Made by Angry Birds Makers

Pigs Will Fly! A Puzzle Game From the PIGS’ Point of View!

Angry Birds maker Rovio Entertainment launched a new title in Thursday, allowing users to play as the Bad Piggies (A.K.A. Pigs or Green Pigs) from the smash-hit game.

"Just out today, the new game is already No. 1 among all paid iPhone and iPad apps."

The first Bad Piggies mobile game hitted app stores today for iOS and Android, allowing players to take revenge on the Angry Birds who attacked the pigs with slingshots in the original game. The Angry Birds sequel is the most-downloaded paid app among both iPhone and iPad users.

Rovio has packaged the pigs in two flavors - a standard edition for smartphones and an HD one for tablets. The iPhone and iPod Touch version costs 99 cents, while the iPad version will set you back $2.99. Both Android versions are free from Google Play, apparently thanks to a special Google promotion celebrating 25 billion downloads in less than four years.

The Head of Game Developing at Rovio, Petri Jarvilehto, Promised a Unique Gaming Experience

"It's an entirely new, completely unique game play experience. We've approached game play this time around from a very different angle. Angry Birds games are essentially like you're shooting birds with a sling shot and the way we see the birds destroy things whereas the pigs they are the builders. So this is a game that's completely based around the concept of the pigs building things - they see delicious eggs and start heading that way and start building all kinds of devices to reach their goal," he said.

Bad Piggies - The Piggest Game Ever Made by Angry Birds Makers

He said they could not live on the success of Angry Birds and that it was imperative to have a good game in order to be successful.

The Strong Angry Birds Brand was a Key to its Success, Jarvilehto Added

"What we have been doing with Angry Birds is we have been consistently building it as a brand, much stronger than the game itself. For us the big thing about Angry Birds is not necessarily the sling shot game, it's the characters, the universe, it is everything that we can create with those fantastic little birds or fantastic little pigs and that I think is a crucial difference in mind set in terms of how we've approached this," he said.

Bad Piggies - The Piggest Game Ever Made by Angry Birds Makers

Those tricky pigs have a few objects they can use - umbrellas, wings, bottle rockets, balloons, engines, and much more - but they need your help to turn it into the perfect transportation! Can you create the ultimate flying machine and steer them safely to their destination?

With more than 60 levels and free updates, you have hours of pig-crashing, exploding, and flying fun!
Get three stars on every level to unlock 30 more puzzles!

And if you want to stretch your creativity, there are 4 sandbox levels, where you can design more crazy rolling and flying contraptions!

As Stated by Rovio, the Pigs Have Very Little Intelligence, Easily Mistaking a Bubble for an Egg

The pigs usually are focused on the topic food and eating. However, their building skills show improvement as the game progresses, suggesting the topic of survival of the fittest applies for the pigs.

It’s possible that Apple is simply fixing some technical glitches.

Whatever the reason is, it'll be a few short hours until we know more details. Once it gets back up, we will let you know about the changes.

Microsoft News : Windows Mobile Marketplace to be shut down this May

Description :
Back in May last year Microsoft announced that it would stop taking in app submissions for its Windows Mobile Marketplace and we mentioned that we wouldn’t be surprised if they shut it down in the future. Fast forward to almost a year later, and it looks like it’s coming true. Microsoft has announced that it will be shutting down the Windows Mobile Marketplace this coming May. The app store that has been providing apps to Windows Mobile devices for a few years will finally be put to rest.

Microsoft has started sending emails to Windows Mobile users informing them of the Marketplace’s impending demise, recommending them to download/purchase and update their apps before it’s too late. When the Windows Mobile Marketplace is shut down, users won’t be able to access it and if their phones get wiped, they won’t be able to reinstall the apps from there. Fortunately apps can still be installed on the phones via third-party marketplaces or from their developers.
The Windows Mobile Marketplace will be taken offline on May 9th. Anybody going to miss the Marketplace when it’s gone?

Apple Has Fixed iPhone And iPod Appstore Problems For Older Devices

Description :

A change that was made to the App Store, possibly on the 16th of December, was causing problems for iPhone and iPod touch owners running iOS 3.1.1 on their devices. The problems were not being able to download apps - clicking on their price, other buttons such as ratings were also broken, and some app screenshots weren’t available.

Appstore

Over on the Apple Support Communities, an initial post by one affected iPhone 3GS owner has already grown to several pages, as users reported their own experiences. While Apple can’t keep supporting older devices forever, these problems seem more like a glitch rather than an active move to end support.

Eventhough now it seems Apple has fixed this problem and everything runs smoothly!

Meet Amazon Kindle Fire

Description :

The Kindle Fire is burning up the charts.

Meet Amazon Kindle Fire

Pre - sales of the newly announced Kindle Fire by Amazon suggest the tablet is on track to outsell the iPad in first - month sales. If accurate, that’s big -- really big.

Meet Amazon Kindle Fire

So far, competing brands have done nothing to rival Apple’s splash nor dominance of the growing tablet market. The Fire is the first real competitor.

Meet Amazon Kindle Fire

Apple iPad sales are as brisk as ever, of course, but there’s plenty of reason for the excitement surrounding the all - new, color screen, touch - enabled Kindle Fire. To borrow an Apple word, it’s different. But it’s also similar enough to the iPad that a lot of consumers might view it as a worthy alternative - indeed, something better.

1. Eye - popping affordability

At $199, the Kindle Fire sells for less than half the price of the iPad, which starts at $500. So for every entry - level iPad bought and sold, you could buy two and a half Fires. That alone is turning heads, especially since the previously released and uninspired iPad clones have tried to charge as much as Apple for a much less desired product.

2. A lot more content

Content is king. And iPad may be king of the apps, but Kindle Fire bests it considerably by volume of content. The Fire will have immediate access to the 18 million movies, TV shows, songs, magazines, and books already available on Amazon’s easy - to -browse virtual shelves.

Apple doesn't cite how many TV shows or songs are available, but the number appears to be far less in anecdotal searches.  Want to rent instead of buy? There’s an app ...er, a solution for that, too: 10,000 movies and TV shows can be streamed instantly. Those numbers are huge, and growing every day.

3. Free storage

If you want to take all your content with you, the entry - level iPad and it's puny 16 Gb storage drive leaves a lot to be desired. You can buy more, but it’ll cost you. Which is why the Fire’s sales pitch -- free cloud storage for all your Amazon content -- is so enticing, especially since Amazon is already the no. 1 digital bookstore, the no. 2 mp3 store (behind Apple), and high on the list in other categories.

For content you don't buy from Amazon, there are about 6 Gb's of free space on the Fire to do with as you please.

4. Democratized apps

One of the biggest knocks on the Apple AppStore is that it’s a closed system - if Apple doesn’t like your stuff, no app for you. One of the biggest knocks on the Google Android software powering nearly every other tablet out there is that it's too open - you’re required to sift through a lot of junk to get to the goods.

The Kindle Fire hopes to bridge that gap with the Amazon Appstore, which remains open like Android, but only makes available the very best and most popular apps from the open market. The result: More free apps without the hassle, the best of both worlds approach.

5. Easier to hold

The 10 - inch iPad is a lot of fun, but hard to handle with one hand due to its weight and size. The 6 - inch Kindle reader, on the other hand, is a lot easier to hold. With only one hand, you can hold it for several hours without fatigue. The new 7- inch Kindle Fire promises the same: capable of being held with one hand, lighter than the iPad, and a lot more portable.

All of those pros don’t come without sacrifices, however. The Fire’s screen is 3” smaller than the iPad, which might not make it as ideal a device for watching movies or playing HD games (that’s to be seen, though). Furthermore, the Fire lacks a lens and microphone, so it won’t be able to snap photos, shoot video, or accept video calls. But for $300 less, those are things i bet a lot of people can live without.

The Kindle Fire goes on sale Nov. 15 for $199. Let us know if are you going to buy it.
